CeramicsYakima Maker Space has a well-equipped clay work area, able to handle individuals and group classes. We have throwing wheels, wear boards, kiln, glazes, tools and materials to help you make your art in clay. Our instructors offer classes in both basic and advanced techniques, for children and adults. Please see our Upcoming Events list and find a class that interests you. Please note, all members interested in using this area must take an orientation course regardless of abilities so that instructors have an opportunity to get to know members and educate them on our policies and procedures (e.g. user shelve assignment, how to buy clay, where to place items to be fired, etc). All clay that is used at Yakima Maker Space, must be purchased from Yakima Maker Space to ensure safety in our kilns, and cover costs of firing and glazing your work.Once checked out in this area you can purchase clay for the YMS store.
